Reliability lies at the core of Essential Power’sTM business and it drives everything we do. We can be counted upon to provide electric energy safely, reliably and affordably, with minimal environmental impact.
We help keep the lights on by maintaining our generating assets in a constant state of operational readiness at some of the highest levels in our industry. Many of our generating facilities can start and achieve full power in less than 30 minutes.

This focus on reliability in the broader context of the word is essential not only to our business success, but also to the reliability of the Bulk Electric System. As such, Essential Power is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities under the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) Reliability Standards, administered by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). We participate in NERC’s regional standards development and compliance activities, and have developed and implemented a rigorous self-assessment program that ensures we operate in a safe and reliable manner.
